Calvin and Hobbes: The Complete Collection

Calvin and Hobbes. My favourite Cartoon Strip. Simple/Humorous outlook of a Complicated life from the eyes of a kid and his toy tiger.

Calvin FacesCalvin: A six year old imaginative kid with a very advanced vocabulary (I needed a dictionary more often than I care to acknowledge). He likes playing and watching TV the whole day and hates school (No surprises there). In school, he imagines himself as a space ranger/hero fighting aliens or exploring other planets, and is often sent to the principals office because he insults the teacher by imagining her to be an ugly alien villain. Most of the time, he spends time with his stuffed tiger, Hobbes, whom he imagines to be real. The conversations he has with that tiger aren’t what you call – Normal. They range from personal, school-related to political, philosophical outlook on life. He doesn’t like girls (hehe… winks) and is often rude to his classmate Susie Derkins by pointing out gross remarks on her lunch. Calvin and Hobbes even create a club where girls are not allowed (not that there are others in that club).
From Wikipedia: “Calvin is an impulsive, sometimes overly creative, imaginative, energetic, curious, intelligent, often selfish, rude, and usually bad-tempered six-year-old, whose last name is never mentioned in the strip.[34]Despite his low grades, Calvin has a larger vocabulary than many adults and an emerging philosophical mind”

Hobbes: He is a stuffed tiger to all others except Calvin. Calvin imagines him to be a life-size tiger. Hobbes like tuna-fish from the looks of it. I’d say Hobbes was a kid with his own personality.
From wikipedia: “Hobbes (the tiger) is much more rational and aware of consequences than Calvin, but seldom interferes with Calvin's troublemaking beyond a few oblique warnings. Hobbes is sarcastic when Calvin is being hypocritical about things he dislikes. Hobbes' true nature is made more ambiguous by episodes that seem to attribute real-life consequences to Hobbes's actions.”

They both together seem to get the magic down.

My Dilbert 1993 Comic Strip Collection

dilbertI absolutely adore comics and the first thing I read in a newspaper (The Hindu) is the Comic Strip page. My favourite one is ‘Calvin and Hobbes’ by Bill Waterson. Although there’s this Dilbert Strip by Scott Adams every weekend in the extras page. First I thought it was a Comic strip, but I ended up concluding it was a Documentary afterall. I’ve collected some stuff related to Dilbert. And I’d like to post the 1993 Collection here.

Dilbert is an engineer who works in a large technological company. He also has a dog named Dogbert and a rat (which is not a pet) named Ratbert. The story revolves around Dilbert’s engineer nature, his boss’ maniac’ al work flow procedures, Dogberts profession ideas, etc.

The download link is given at the bottom of the post. The archive consists of 365 Dilbert Strips.

Here are some of the ones that I think are the best

The Future of Mobile Phones: Concept

Nokia’s Morph:

 Morph3 Morph4

Morph is a concept that demonstrates how future mobile devices might be stretchable and flexible, allowing the user to transform their mobile device into radically different shapes. It demonstrates the ultimate functionality that nanotechnology might be capable of delivering: flexible materials, transparent electronics and self-cleaning surfaces.

I generally work with 2-Dimensional Pictures with Photoshop (and ended up becoming a sort of an amateur pro at it). But, I’ve been waiting to try out the 3-Dimensional Designing for quite some time now. I took a lot of time to grasp the concepts. Learned several things (ALL) from the Internet tutorials. Internet can be used for a lot of productive purposes, I tell you.

I actually wanted to write a detailed tutorial as to how I designed the ‘Cubart’
